Introduction
Madurese is spoken on the small island of Madura, lying adjacent to Java, as well as that part of eastern Java which faces Madura. Like Sundanese, it was traditionally written in the Javanese script but recently the Roman alphabet has come into use. Madurese is another of the Malayo-Polynesian languages. There are about 8 million speakers.

Translation
When you enter a house, say first: "Peace be on this house." And if a peaceful person is present there, your peace shall rest upon him; but if not, it shall return to you. Remain in the same house, eating and drinking whatever is given to you, do not go from house to house.
