Dyoma had not slept for several nights awaiting his induction into the army. And when he did doze off for a bit he had all kinds of dreams. He was fighting the enemy.
After receiving his orders Dyoma did not leave the induction center for two days. Today the induction center told him:
"Well, Demyan Platonovich, get ready! Today is the day you may enter the army."
"I am ready!" cried Dyoma in a loud voice.
