An endeavour has all along been made to make the most frequently used words and phrases of this foreign language come alive to it's Indian readers. Various devices have been adopted for this purpose. All combing to help the reader acquire an association of ideas with the particular word he/she happens to be looking up in the dictionary at the moment.
This dictionary tries to explain more than 35,000 current words of the English language along with 25,000 idiomatic phrases. Every shade of meaning has been explained in very simple words and numerous synonyms have been discriminated. Urdu equivalents have everywhere been given but care has always been taken to see that they should not smack of more translation. |
