This book presents the major grammatical concepts of the Portuguese language in accordance with current practices in both Portugal and Brazil. The 1971 Acordo Ortografico, an agreement standardizing much of the spelling throughout the Portuguese-speaking world, was to have been updated recently. A this book goes to print, the final revision still has not been approved by all parties. This work points out the differences in grammar between the Portuguese of mainland Portugal and Brazil and, as such, is a useful guide to anyone having contact with either country. |
