An irreverent cop (a breezy Chow Yun Fat) is forced to team up with his boss' rash nephew, who gets him involved with recent illegal immigrant Joey Wang, in a mixture of drama, comedy and intense action scenes. Joey, fearing she might be deported, pretends to believe herself to be Chow's wife, much to his initial irritation, although to his mother's delight. Meanwhile, he continues to chase a drug dealer while she tries to stay clear of a vicious thug involved in her immigration to Hong Kong. Mandarin with English subtitles (sometimes a bit washed out).
