Fernando de Szyszlo was a pioneer in the field of abstract art in his native Peru. Absorbed with pre-Columbian cultures, the camera finds him in his small, secret studio that faces the sky and the sea. He paints undisturbed to the music of Vivaldi and Bach, taking up to three weeks to complete a painting as he works with transparent colors over opaque colors and must wait for each stage to dry.
