has been superbly restored with a new soundtrack featuring the London
Philharmonic Orchestra. Geraldine Farrar, the Metropolitan Opera's
biggest box-office draw from 1906-1922, was engaged by DeMille to
recreate one of her greatest roles for the silent screen. The film was
rapturously received at its 1915 world premiere performance, with
Farrar elevated to Hollywood stardom. Also includes passages of the
