There are also a few additional words and defintions, prepared by the Rev. E.O. Stevens and some few by Dr. Mason; all of these words are marked with an S or a M, after the defintion, to show the source whence they came.
This dictionary was originally prepared to assist the English student in the acquisition of the Burmese language; hence a great portion of the matter consists of explanations in English of the various shades of meaning attached to the word defined. |
