This dictionary is meant primarily as a tool for English Speakers who need to know Indonesian and who deal with Indonesian writings. The aim thus has been to give comprehensive coverage to forms a foreigner might run across in Indonesian readings, from this era from the past, but excluding classcial Malay literature. Much of the Indonesian written production (literary and otherwise) nowadays contains slangy, colloquial, and regional forms, and such forms have not been excluded. The dictionary should also be useful to Indonesians who wish to learn English Equivalents of Indonesian words.
