Jai (Dharmendra) has been brought up as a son of an affluent business man who found him at the temple steps. Due to the folly of a stage assistant who mistakes him for a musician he meets Aarti (Asha Parekh). After a breif courtship they decide to get married. Luck however has something else in store. Aartis father is run over by his car. As if it was not enough his brother in law who not only had an evil eye on his father's wealth also had a cabaret dancer mistress. Jai decides to save his sister's home. In the process he himself is trapped in a evil conspiracy.
