Filipino (Pilipino) is a language based on Tagalog, renamed and modified in order to create a national language. Before 1989 Pilipino was the national language. Filipino is said to be a combination of all the different Philippine languages, but is essentially Tagalog. Filipino and English are the official languages in the Philippines.

There are over 50 different languages in the Philippines. For example, there is Tagalog, Visayan, Pangasinan, etc. These are not different dialects, but individual languages.

The software includes a word for word text translator. Translates in either direction. Translates letters, word lists, or any text-formatted document. You can create your own customized word lists - The Language Learning section contains related words in different categories. It can be played in sequence similar to an audiocassette tape. Unlike a tape, you can select any number of words from each category. The speed is controllable, and the lists may be printed. This feature is not available in the The software based dictionary is indexed in both languages, quickly locates a word in either language. Enter the desired word, or first part of the word to locate the corresponding word in the other language. You can also move sequentially backward or forward. These words can be copied and pasted into any other Windows documents. Maps included are maps of the Philippines, the Manila area, Cebu Province, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific. Click on a map location to hear it pronounced. Learn the geography as well as the correct pronunciation of locations in the Philippines. Other information is presented on locations selected. Displays current Philippine time. The maps may be printed. Conversion Utilities include a Peso/Dollar converter and metric conversion utility. Convert dollars (or other monetary units) to pesos, or pesos to dollars. Also includes a utility to convert between miles/kilometers, pounds/kilograms, gallons/liters, and temperature conversions. See metric converter. Set the location from any time zone to obtain the current Philippine time. In addition, the software includes Filipino Language guidelines, Philippine travel information, and Filipino related internet sites. Context sensitive help is available by pressing the F1 key. The maps, language lists, and translated documents may all be printed.

Translator

A note stating that the current version software is NOT fully compatible with Windows Vista. Customer should purchase software they intend to run on Vista at their own risk. Many of the features work fine but some do not. We will not replace or support software that is being used on a Vista machine.
