Language Information


The Lunda Empire's capital was musumba, in the actual province of Katanga in the Democratic Republic of Congo (ex-Zaïre) The former Lunda Empire was split up after the Berlin Conference of 1884 over mainly 3 countries: Belgian Congo, Zambia and Angola. The Lunda language is not only spoken in Angola, but also in the South-East part of Congo, in northern Zambia and in northwest Zimbabwe.
