At every stage of Open Sesame, lessons focus on topics relevant and interesting to children. At the beginning levels, topics include the family, school, food, and feelings. At the higher levels, content-area topics including habitats, dinosaurs, and the solar system are the medium for teaching both language and cognitive skills. Each book in the series takes your students' environment into account and provides them with the language skills necessary to interact comfortably.

Open Sesame Sesame is a five part series that takes the child student from beginner through high-intermediate levels of English.

Open Sesame features a full set of motivating components for every stage of the series.

The student books are full-color and beautifully illustrated. They present conversations, songs, chants, stories, and poems. Students learn while having fun.

The teacher's books are interleaved to include corresponding full-size, full-color Student Book pages. They provide easy-to-follow teaching instructions, a transcript of the cassette material, a list of Picture Cards, a word list, a list of materials, and reduced Activity Books pages.

The activity books provide provide practice and reinforcement of the lessons in the Student book through a series of fun and educational activities that get students drawing, writing, and playing games. The activity books are also available as duplicating masters which can be photocopied.

The cassettes contain the songs, chants, conversations, stories, poems, and tests included in the student books.

Big Bird's Yellow Book This is the first book in the Open Sesame series. It features beautiful illustrations and contains no written words. It introduces young students to English in a non-threatening manner.

Grover's Orange Book
This is the second book in the Open Sesame series. It develops oral language and listening skills through motivating conversations, songs, chants, and poems that form the basis for an introduction to printed words.

Cookie Monster's Blue Book
This is the third book in the Open Sesame series. It provides additional oral language development activities and introduces reading and writing exercises. Printed words are introduced first as labels, then in sentences, and finally in short paragraphs.

Prairie Dawn's Purple Book
This is the fourth book in the Open Sesame series. This book introduces specific content-area material with an emphasis on critical thinking skills.

Ernie and Bert's Red Book
This is the fifth book in the Open Sesame series. This book extends the focus on content-area materials, while still supplying plenty of oral practice.
