Its speakers, the Baganda, live principally in the former kingdom of Buganda, which is located in the southern region and includes the capital city of Kampala. The animals had no leader and decided to choose one. A race was held, and a chair was placed a long distance away. The first animal to reach the chair and sit on it would be the leader. As usual, the lion was the fastest, but he did not know that the chameleon was sitting behind his tail. As he sat on the chair, he heard a cry. He jumped up and was surprised to find the chameleon, who claimed he was first and therefore the leader. "Wisdom is better than strength."
