Beautiful. This is the BEST way to learn about the recent works of Cesar Pelli.

A fascinating and World renowned Architect, who heads one of the most significant architectural offices in the United States. Famous for his elegant buildings in expensive glazing envelopes, such as the World Financial Center in New York, and Canary Wharf Tower in London. In 1997, his design for the world's tallest building, "Petronas Towers", was completed in Malaysia.

This book presents more than twenty of Pelli's current projects in America, Asia, and Europe. It documents - among others- such diverse solutions as Edificio República in Buenos Aires, Zürich Tower in Den Haag, the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Osaka, Washington National Airport, NTT Headquarters in Tokyo, and of course the famed Petronas Towers in Kuala Lampur. In their diversity these buildings show the extraordinary range and versatility of this architect. In four chapters, the author carefully analyzes Pelli's design approaches and philosophy. Particular value is assigned to the respectful integration of a work with the existing content, as Pelli explains:
"A building must be both background and foreground. As foreground, it must have some exceptional qualities. But it must also try very hard to knit into the fabric of the city."

Very well written, Great pictures, lots of blueprints.
