Brief Description: The Reading Pen II is a fully portable assistive reading technology that was designed for people who have difficulty recognizing or understanding words while reading. It is especially helpful for those learning English as a second language, word aficionados who like the convenience of having an English dictionary immediately accessible, and people with learning disabilities and reading difficulties, such as dyslexia. If a person is reading and comes to an unrecognized or difficult word, the person can simply scan it, and the word will be displayed and spoken aloud through the built in speaker It provides a definition of the scanned word or line of text, and can read both the words and definition aloud. Individual words are enlarged on the display, and words may be spelled out.,or broken into syllables. This completely portable pen-shaped scanner contains the entire American Heritage Dictionary (third edition).
