The island nation of Indonesia - the largest and most populous country in Southeast Asia - balances equal parts of custom and change. As gleaming skyscrapers rise in major cities, traditional design and ways of living remain extremely important. Bryan Whitney is a photographer who has worked for Art & Antiques, the New York Times, House Beautiful, Metropolitan Home, Colonial Homes, Better Homes and Gardens, Harper抯 Bazaar, and Metropolis. He has lectured on and taught photography, and his work has been widely exhibited.
