Raj Kapoor, the creator of such classics of the silver screen as Aware, Aag and Sangam, is many things to many people-producer, director, actor, editor, musician, storyteller, a man of many moods, and an acknowledged patriarch of India's film industry. He is also known to the world as an extraordinary and controversial showman, a lover, an idealist, a reformer.

There will be endless debates about his exact contribution to the art of film-making, but few can deny that he was the greatest entertainer of Hindi cinema. He worked within the cinematic tradition he inherited, modified it, added anew elements to its, and thus produced a distinctive, seductively romantic and immensely popular oeuvre.

Ritu Nanda, the second child of Raj Kapoor, has been one of the leading insurance intermediaries of the Life Insurance Corporation of India for the last fourteen years and ranks among the top 1000 insurance professionals in the world. She is Chairman and CEO, ESCOLIFE, a high-technology platform created to provide service to the entire insurance sector worldwide. She is also CED of Raksha TPA, which provides third party administrative services for health care, in 2000, she established the RNIS College of Insurance, which today has over 50 branches all over the country.

Ritu Nanda is married to the industrialist Rajan Nanda, and has two Children, Nitasha and Nikhil, a daughter-in -law, Shweta (Indian screen legend Amitabh Bachchan's daughter), and two grand children, Navya Naveli and Agastya. She lives in New Delhi.
